Step 1: Go to Document in the menu bar and then select New document with WSize on, which will make the canvas size the same as the viewport size. I, and all the machines on my network, are using i7s so I can get away with quite a bit, but as far as hair goes I think I’m going to stick to planes, and sculpting like this. Here are the following steps mention below. I have access to a small rendering farm, but I want to render at HD resolutions…and I don’t want to be spending 4 or 5 hours a frame (once I put in my lighting and other materials of course). As it is, I’m already leaning more towards normal maps, and using displacement maps VERY sparringly. I really don’t want my render and simulation times to get too unmanagable. I thought briefly about checking out some hair plugins and seeing out how to approach the subject…but I decided against it because I’m doing this all in my freetime, there will be several other characters I need to do for it, and I’m going lone wolf on it. While the body is ready im pretty much stuck at the hair since I have no clue as to how to create hair on ZBrush. ^I should probably also clarify that my final goal is to rig this character and use him for a prerendered film out of 3d studio max…and I’ve never really done complex hair simulations before. Sculpting figurine-like hair Hello, im new to the software, I've decided to sculpt Rem from Re:Zero.
